13 Awesome Toddler Gift Ideas That Aren’t Toys
It’s crazy how quickly our little ones accumulate SO. MANY. TOYS. Where the heck did they all come from? My daughter turns 2 next week, and I have no clue where I would put any more toys. There are some really cool ones out there, and she is going to love ripping open those presents, but here are some ideas for gifts that keep on giving…educational and experience gifts are the best! Teach My Toddler is an all-in-one learning kit for toddlers 18 months+. The kit has everything to give your toddler a head start and teach the basics. There are 4 sections: The Alphabet, Numbers, Shapes and Colors. The teaching tools are fully coordinated to encourage repetition and interaction. Teach My Toddler is designed around the concept of matching, which is a key pre-reading skill! My daughter has so much fun with this, and wants to play with it all the time. It’s crazy how quickly they pick it up!
My daughter LOVES her Pottery Barn Kids Anywhere Chair! It is a little pricier than other kid chairs, but it’s great quality and I know it will last a really long time. I also love that I can take the cover off to wash when it gets dirty.
Ok, so maybe this could be considered a toy…but little kitchens are so much fun for toddlers to get their imagination going. They’ll have a blast “cooking” and sharing all the treats they’ve made. They come in many different size and price ranges, so there is really one for everybody!
Educational gifts are great! Little ones learn so much about the things around them, and it is like an ongoing field trip!
Books are one of the most important things for a toddler to be exposed to. Your kiddo will love picking out their favorite books each time you visit the Library. Most libraries will also have a toddler storytime, so be sure to check your local schedule! For some great toddler book ideas, check out 26 Books To Include In Your Toddler’s Library.
A Class (Dance, Gymnastics, etc)
This usually ends up being a Mommy/Daddy & Me class if your child is under 3, but these classes are so much fun! My daughter and I took a Toddler gymnastics class this summer, and she had a great time bouncing around all the equipment. It also helped teach her some great skills, like minding a teacher, and waiting her turn in line!
Every kid loves doodling and coloring! There are tons of multi-use easels made for toddlers, that include a chalkboard, white board, and clips to hang paper so they can draw and paint. So many activities all in one!
If your toddler is transitioning out of their crib, then new bedding will help them feel like a “Big Kid” and hopefully make things easier on Mom and Dad. Sleeping bags are also fun if you want to have a living room campout, or to take to Grandma’s.
Give your kids the world! The best kids’ gifts inspire the imagination and keep kids interested and engaged. That’s exactly what you get with Little Passports monthly subscriptions! This is a fun educational gift that they’ll look forward to getting each month! There are also different levels based on age, so they can keep learning new things for years!
Whether it’s for art time or tea parties, a table and chairs is great for any kid’s room! They’ll love having their own special spot!
Whether they are going to daycare or to Grandma’s for the night, a backpack is great for letting them carry their own things and feel like a Big Kid.
Let their imagination go crazy! This can be great for playtime or even as a reading nook. Some of these can be used outdoors too, in case you don’t have the extra space in the house.
Most kids love books, and they’ll love them even more if they are part of the story! These are cute stories with your little one as the star!
