Y’all. These saved my sanity. There’s nothing worse than changing a screaming baby in the middle of the night (half-asleep of course) and fumbling around with the snaps!
I loved my Moby! There is a bit of a learning curve, but once you figure out how to wrap it, it’s awesome! Here’s a tutorial that will help. It was great being able to walk through Target without the car seat taking up the whole basket. I’d just wrap baby up on my chest and go. The bonus snuggles are pretty sweet too.
These little things are great! I always keep several of them in the diaper bag. When you are out, and don’t want to stink up someone else’s trash can, toss that diaper in one of these and all you smell is baby powder!
This is not only great for breastfeeding, it helps support baby when you need a hand free. It’s also nice to have around with visitors, especially younger ones who you don’t necessarily trust to hold baby up properly. Later, it will be a handy little prop pillow!
I always hand washed my bottles and pump parts, because it was just easier for me. After, I’d just set them all up on the grass to dry. Easy peasy.
When baby starts teething, they will gnaw on ANYTHING! You can put one of these on while holding your little one, and it keeps them from chewing on your shirt or hair. Works great in conjunction with the Moby Wrap or other baby carrier.
Best thing ever made! The Rock n Play is wonderful! It rocks, vibrates, and is super comfy for little bit to lay in! It can be kept in the living room for daily naps, or even used as a bassinet next to the bed in those early months.
There are all kinds of white noise/music machines out there that are awesome, but it’s so nice to have a portable one in the car for those long (or short) trips. This clips right on to the car seat, and can be set to different lullabies, sounds, or white noise.
Car seats are so heavy these days! When you add a little one to it, it can get a little rough after a while. This velcro’s around the handle, and then you have some nice cushion when you carry the seat hooked on your arm. It also comes in some pretty cute designs that give baby something fun to look at.
These are so versatile! The muslin blankets are thin and breathable, so baby doesn’t get too hot in a swaddle, and it’s not a danger if it drapes over the face when used as a regular blanket. They are really big, which is soooo much better than traditional receiving blankets. There are some more really nice brands of muslin blankets out there, but these are my favorite! Much more affordable, and so cute!
11. Closet Dividers
Everyone loves to give cute clothes at baby showers, usually in all different sizes. These are an awesome way to keep the nursery closet organized by size.
12. Hanger Clips
I love these! Most baby clothes come in cute sets, and it’s not exactly easy to hang up the tiny pants and bloomers. I use these to clip pants onto the hanger with the matching shirt. Super useful!
13. Baby Mittens
Babies are born with paper thin little fingernails that are really great for face scratching. These keep that perfect little face blemish-free.
The Aveeno brand is so good for sensitive skin, and most babies fall in this category. It’s extremely gentle and moisturizing, and doesn’t leave baby’s delicate skin itchy or irritated.
Books are soooo important! Helping to build a child’s library is such a thoughtful and lasting gift. Some of my favorites are:
