These will be your best friend! I’ll admit, when I first got these, I wasn’t sure what to do with them. Luckily, they also gave me a box at the hospital and the nurse stuck them in the freezer for me. Wow! After a nursing session, stick these suckers on and enjoy the relief!
There are tons of breastmilk storage bags out there, but these are the best I’ve found. Several others can be prone to leakage, and I never had that problem with these!
These worked double duty for me. They are great light weight, breathable blankets perfect for swaddling, but I also used them as a nursing cover. They aren’t nearly as heavy and thick as many covers out there, plus they have really cute designs!
These are great if you are pumping on the go! More than once, I would have to pump in the car in a pinch. I may or may not have even pumped driving down the road too… hey, you become a pro at it after a while! These wipes allowed me to clean up the pump parts until I could get home to thoroughly sterilize them.
These tanks from Target were my favorite! I started wearing them when I was pregnant, because it was one of the few tanks that were long enough to cover my growing belly. They are soft and comfy, and come in tons of colors. They are also stretchy enough to just pull one arm out for nursing, but it doesn’t actually stretch out the shirt. Just don’t be like me and forget to put the rest of your shirt back on before opening the door to the UPS guy!
This is probably on every new mom must have list, but for good reason! This gave my arms a break while nursing, was great for guests when holding baby, and also served as a nice little pillow.
-A gift certificate for a spa day, because you are a rockstar!
I was always made to believe that Breastfeeding was an easy, natural process, but it can be tough! There will be days you want to throw in the towel, but it’s so worth it. The bond you will have with baby is amazing, and the health/immunity boost it gives is unparalleled. In the 14 months I nursed my daughter, she only got sick once. That one time was just a cold, that went away in a day, which I also credit to the magic of breastmilk.
You can do this, Mommas!
